3 Lessons I Learned While Reading Books

Hey! What’s up! Hello! I’m super happy to be back and I’m sorry I haven’t posted since Wednesday. I didn’t get to do Friday Finds or Lifestyle Sunday because school literally happens next week on Monday so I’m just trying to prepare for the upcoming school year and hoping to succeed. I will be making my posts ahead of time because I won’t have a lot of time this year but every weekend I will be preparing my post for the week. Ok, enough rambling today I will be sharing 3 Lessons I Learned While Reading Books.

Be yourself

I’ve read a lot of books and all I see are these characters who are truly themselves and each book I’ve read from I get to see a different character. In every book, no character is the same but they can be similar. I think for awhile I was trying to be something I was not and I was trying to fit in with the crowd at school. I’m really happy I did leave school and become homeschooled. I also think that people think that school is where you can find yourself. I’m at home majority of the time and I’ve found myself just by being at home on a computer doing work. I don’t need classrooms or students to find out who I am and be myself. Life goes on and each day I learn something new about myself.

Anything Is Possible

Anything is possible! I believe in that so much. I believe that if you do put in the work and you truly believe it you can achieve it. Always reach for the stars and always try to think of bigger and better things for yourself. I’ve read in books and I’ve read about these characters who do amazing things. The characters from books show me that anything is possible and If someone else can do it I can do it too! Don’t let anyone tell you different and try to stay positive.

Romance will come at its own time

Being that I’m only 16 years old and every girl my age wants a boyfriend or someone to love. I have also have gone through this where I also wanted those things. YA Contemporaries tells these stories of young love and just because you read about it doesn’t mean It’s going to happen when you want it to happen. Love is something that comes with patients because it doesn’t just happen overnight. I definitely would recommend waiting on love if you are still young because we don’t really know what love is and love isn’t how it is in books all the time. Love is different for everyone!

Tell me in the comments 3 lessons you have learned from reading! 💖

Top Ten Tuesday: 10 Ways To Read During Life

Bonjour! Today I will be doing Top Ten Tuesday and for Top Ten Tuesday this week, I will be telling you ten different ways you can read during your life.

Read while you wait for transportation-

I know a lot of us humans don’t have cars which is absolutely fine but I think if your gonna be waiting for a bus, train, or a cab you should bring a book to be productive while you are waiting. When I’m just waiting for transportation I really get my reading in because I’ll be busy for the rest of that day.

Read in class-

Reading in class is something everyone should do especially when you finish your work. I am homeschooled and It doesn’t take long for me to finish my work so when I finish my work I have the rest of the day to read and blog but if you are in a regular class try to read when you finish your work/test, read when you have free time at school and I know some schools have reading time which is what I had before I started to homeschool. Try to get as much reading in at school and in class.

Read before you go to bed-

Reading before bed is something I love to do simply because it has my mind thinking while I’m in bed before I fall asleep and sometimes I even have good dreams about the book I’m reading. Reading before bed helps the mind in my opinion and when you read before bed you are getting a lot of reading in for that night. Even if you just read one chapter at least you’re getting some reading in before you shut your eyes for the night.

Read while walking-

I know that this one can be hard and sometimes it’s not safe but make sure to look up every now and then to look where you are going. Reading while walking helps to get some of that reading in before you get to your destination so try to bring a book with you at all times because you may be walking or you may have free time to read.

Read while eating-

While you are eating you should get into reading but make sure you are eating dry foods because foods that can possibly mess up books are bad! Eat little snacks such as crackers, granola, baby carrots, nuts, bread, etc.

Read while watching tv-

While you are watching tv you should read a book. I like to read during commercials so instead of sitting there for 5 whole minutes being impatient and doing nothing I just decide to read the book I’m currently reading. It’s better than doing nothing so pick up a book!

Read instead of going on social media-

I know social media is life but sometimes I just have to take a break from it and just read a book. Social media is really not good to be on every day all day so just take a break and read a book. You could even go outside and read or even get into bed and read a book.

Read while traveling-

I know some of you may not like reading while traveling because you wanna relax but still try to get some reading in even if it’s just a chapter or two. You could even bring a book that has the same setting like if you’re in New York bring a book that is set in New York.

Read on a road trip-

You are gonna be stuck in the car for a couple of hours depending on where you are going so you might as well bring some books to read. I know from experience that road trips can get very boring because you’re really just in a car but this is a great time to get the reading in.

Read when you’re doing nothing-

The best one out of them all is to read when you are doing absolutely nothing. Find a book you are really interested in and find a place you like and just read. It is still summer and no school so that means we are not that busy and we have more time to read.

I hope you liked Top Ten Tuesday for this week and comment on some other ways we could read in our life down below! 💖

Lifestyle: 7 Tips To Become A Positive Person

Why hello there, I missed you guys and I wanna thank you guys for 91 followers! I’m almost at 100 Followers and without you guys that wouldn’t be possible so I wanna thank every single one of you guys and tell you guys that I appreciate you guys. I think every last one of you makes me wanna work harder on my blog. It’s a new week and a new day! Today I will be getting back into my lifestyle posts and I will be doing lifestyle post every Sunday from now on. I meant to do this yesterday but I had a tiring weekend but without further ado, let’s get into 7 Tips To Become A Positive Person.

Tip #1 – Go To Bed Early And Get Up Early

I think this tip is very important because when I stay up late and sleep late I tend to be very grouchy and not nice when I don’t get my rest. Try to go to sleep before 12 midnight not right at 12 midnight because it takes a while to go to sleep so try to go to sleep early to give you more time to get to sleep. Set up a routine every morning and night I actually like to watch those types of videos on youtube. I think it’s important to have a routine to keep you organized so you’re not all over the place in the morning and at night.

Tip #2 – Eat Healthy

I know eating healthy is super hard for a lot of people and it’s kinda hard for me because my grandma and I are very close and so she always brings me junk food and little desserts when she comes to see me which is almost every week but me and her are working on eating healthy and when we do we feel very amazing also very cleansed. Eating healthy just makes you more vibrant and happy that you’re feeding your body good foods and being on the path of living longer.

Tip #3 – Surround yourself with positive influences

I strongly believe that who you hang out with in life is gonna make you who you are. If you hang out or be around people who are positive you will become a positive person and if you hang out with people who are constantly negative and you are trying to fit in with that crowd you are most likely gonna turn into the people who you hang around. I would suggest befriending people who are positive, kind, has goals and wants to do better in their life. I read a book which I am currently reading right now Every day By David Levithan and in this book I read that the people who are nice just put on a front and they are not sincere, the people who are kind are actually very amazing people and don’t have to front when around people. Try to surround yourself with kind positive people!

Tip #4 – Practice Positivity

FullSizeRender 2.jpg

For practicing positivity there is a lot you can do, such as going outside, reading more books, dance or even sing out loud to a song you love, meditate, lay in bed and listen to a playlist of songs you love, play with your pet, etc. Practicing positivity to me is very easy when you practice it every day. Practicing will put you on the path to become a better person.

Tip #5 – Smile

I’m actually working on this tip because I really hate my smile because of my really high cheek bones but lately, I’ve been smiling a lot more. When people smile at me I actually smile right back or I’ll even wave to say hello. Smiling really is something we should do every day and when I smile I feel happy. Every day try to smile or even smile back at others when they smile at you. Smiling is definitely a good positive tip because when your smiling you are happy and that makes other people around you happy.

Tip #6 – Set Goals

When you set goals you are putting yourself in the position of doing something that you really wanna achieve in your life. I had always wanted a blog ever since I was like 10 and now I’m 16 and I finally have one that is set up how I like it and I have some amazing followers too. When I achieved this goal I felt really happy and I think that’s what setting goals are about, you set goals and you achieve them and you feel like you can do absolutely anything in your life and that anything is possible with hard work and dedication also try to motivate yourself or find things that you think will motivate you.

Tip #7 – Say ‘Thank you’

The most important tip on the list is to always say thank you and to always be thankful for what you have and try not to think about the things you don’t have. I have practiced saying thank you so much that I even say it when It’s just little things. Practice saying thank you and thank anyone in your life who has done something in your life for you because it will make both you and that person feel really good. Always say thank you because you never know what could happen tomorrow so right there you should say thank you.

I hope you all like my lifestyle post for this week and down below in the comments tell me some tips that you have to become a positive person. 💖

Today, I will be sharing with you the books I found this week that I was most interested in.

Book #1

Eliza and Her Monsters By Francesca Zappia. Synopsis- In the real world, Eliza Mirk is shy, weird, and friendless. Online, she’s LadyConstellation, the anonymous creator of the wildly popular webcomic Monstrous Sea. Eliza can’t imagine enjoying the real world as much as she loves the online one, and she has no desire to try.

Then Wallace Warland, Monstrous Sea’s biggest fanfiction writer, transfers to her school. Wallace thinks Eliza is just another fan, and as he draws her out of her shell, she begins to wonder if a life offline might be worthwhile.

But when Eliza’s secret is accidentally shared with the world, everything she’s built—her story, her relationship with Wallace, and even her sanity—begins to fall apart.

  • I found this book on bookstagram and I fell in love with the cover then when I looked it up on Goodreads I fell in love with the synopsis. I will most definitely be making this one of the next books I purchase.

    Book #2

Strange the Dreamer By Laini Taylor. Synopsis- The dream chooses the dreamer, not the other way around—and Lazlo Strange, war orphan and junior librarian, has always feared that his dream chose poorly. Since he was five years old he’s been obsessed with the mythic lost city of Weep, but it would take someone bolder than he to cross half the world in search of it. Then a stunning opportunity presents itself, in the person of a hero called the Godslayer and a band of legendary warriors, and he has to seize his chance or lose his dream forever.

What happened in Weep two hundred years ago to cut it off from the rest of the world? What exactly did the Godslayer slay that went by the name of god? And what is the mysterious problem he now seeks help in solving?

The answers await in Weep, but so do more mysteries—including the blue-skinned goddess who appears in Lazlo’s dreams. How did he dream her before he knew she existed? And if all the gods are dead, why does she seem so real?

    Welcome to Weep.

  • I’ve seen Strange the Dreamer everywhere and It just seems like a really good read. Most of you may know that I’m really getting into fantasy too and Look at the cover!!! I think I’m in love with this cover and I just think it’s so gorgeous.

Book #3

Wild Beauty By Anna Marie Mclemore. Synopsis- For nearly a century, the Nomeolvides women have tended the grounds of La Pradera, the lush estate gardens that enchant guests from around the world. They’ve also hidden a tragic legacy: if they fall in love too deeply, their lovers vanish. But then, after generations of vanishings, a strange boy appears in the gardens.

The boy is a mystery to Estrella, the Nomeolvides girl who finds him, and to her family, but he’s even more a mystery to himself; he knows nothing more about who he is or where he came from than his first name. As Estrella tries to help Fel piece together his unknown past, La Pradera leads them to secrets as dangerous as they are magical in this stunning exploration of love, loss, and family.

  • I found this book on Wednesday night when I was on book tube and I saw this book. I liked the synopsis and It just seems like something I would like because It’s Fantasy and Magical Realism so I’m excited for this book to publish in October so I can hopefully pick it up.

I hope you guys enjoyed Friday Finds which is something I’ll be doing every week for you guys and down below in the comments tell me about some of the great books you’ve found lately because I would love to know. 💖

Hilarious, flamboyant, heart-breaking and full of ingenious word play, Lolita is an immaculate, unforgettable masterpiece of obsession, delusion and lust.

Hunted By Meagan Spooner. Synopsis- Beauty knows the Beast’s forest in her bones—and in her blood. Though she grew up with the city’s highest aristocrats, far from her father’s old lodge, she knows that the forest holds secrets and that her father is the only hunter who’s ever come close to discovering them.

So when her father loses his fortune and moves Yeva and her sisters back to the outskirts of town, Yeva is secretly relieved. Out in the wilderness, there’s no pressure to make idle chatter with vapid baronessas…or to submit to marrying a wealthy gentleman. But Yeva’s father’s misfortune may have cost him his mind, and when he goes missing in the woods, Yeva sets her sights on one prey: the creature he’d been obsessively tracking just before his disappearance.

Deaf to her sisters’ protests, Yeva hunts this strange Beast back into his own territory—a cursed valley, a ruined castle, and a world of creatures that Yeva’s only heard about in fairy tales. A world that can bring her ruin or salvation. Who will survive: the Beauty, or the Beast?

  • Hunted Is #3 on my Top Ten list because I’ve never read a beauty and the beast retelling so I was very intrigued by the story and I hope to get into Hunted very soon because it seems like a good read and I know people have mixed reviews about the book so hopefully I like it because I’m really starting to get into fantasy.

Book #4

You By Caroline Kepnes. Synopsis- When a beautiful, aspiring writer strides into the East Village bookstore where Joe Goldberg works, he does what anyone would do: he Googles the name on her credit card.

There is only one Guinevere Beck in New York City. She has a public Facebook account and Tweets incessantly, telling Joe everything he needs to know: she is simply Beck to her friends, she went to Brown University, she lives on Bank Street, and she’ll be at a bar in Brooklyn tonight—the perfect place for a “chance” meeting.

As Joe invisibly and obsessively takes control of Beck’s life, he orchestrates a series of events to ensure Beck finds herself in his waiting arms. Book #5

Throne Of Glass By Sarah J. Maas. Synopsis- After serving out a year of hard labor in the salt mines of Endovier for her crimes, 18-year-old assassin Celaena Sardothien is dragged before the Crown Prince. Prince Dorian offers her her freedom on one condition: she must act as his champion in a competition to find a new royal assassin.

Her opponents are men-thieves and assassins and warriors from across the empire, each sponsored by a member of the king’s council. If she beats her opponents in a series of eliminations, she’ll serve the kingdom for four years and then be granted her freedom. Celaena finds her training sessions with the captain of the guard, Westfall, challenging and exhilarating. But she’s bored stiff by court life. Things get a little more interesting when the prince starts to show interest in her … but it’s the gruff Captain Westfall who seems to understand her best.

Then one of the other contestants turns up dead … quickly followed by another. Can Celaena figure out who the killer is before she becomes a victim? As the young assassin investigates, her search leads her to discover a greater destiny than she could possibly have imagined.

  • Throne Of Glass Is #5 on my Top Ten list because It’s Fantasy! Magic! and Romance! All the genres that I love so how could I not be possibly interested in this book. I’ve never read anything by Sarah and most of you are gonna be like how haven’t you read anything by Sarah J. Maas. The truth is I just haven’t yet and I’ve been putting her books on hold when I really shouldn’t because I’ve heard amazing things about her from book tubers. I don’t know anything really about Throne Of Glass and I think that it’s good to go into a book you know nothing about. I hope to purchase this book soon!
