4 out of 5 stars

Synopsis: Two misfits.
One extraordinary love.

Eleanor… Red hair, wrong clothes. Standing behind him until he turns his head. Lying beside him until he wakes up. Making everyone else seem drabber and flatter and never good enough…Eleanor.

Park… He knows she’ll love a song before he plays it for her. He laughs at her jokes before she ever gets to the punch line. There’s a place on his chest, just below his throat, that makes her want to keep promises…Park.

Set over the course of one school year, this is the story of two star-crossed sixteen-year-olds—smart enough to know that first love almost never lasts, but brave and desperate enough to try. Two misfits.

-Review-

Eleanor & Park was definitely a good read and I really did enjoy the book. Eleanor was this very different awkward girl with big red hair. She was to me very extraordinary and to me, I think people are very extraordinary when they are different from others.

I hate that Eleanor had to go through a lot with her family and Richie. Gosh, he was such an asshole! I know that’s not good to say but it is very true. He was a drunk and a very bad guy. Eleanor’s mom, on the other hand, was very dumb and she just let Richie act like a complete fool. That couldn’t have been me, just saying. Richie was very awful to Eleanor and he would call her a whore and this and that. Richie was the true definition of an asshole and he definitely needs help.

Park was a complete pussy when he met Eleanor and that first couple of pages where he acted like that I really disliked. I really started smiling at the story 20 pages into the book. I started to love Park a lot and I saw that he was actually a good guy. The connection between Eleanor and Park started to grow and I started to fall in love with Park too. In the end, I saw that Park was amazing and I saw that he loved Eleanor probably more than Eleanor loved him and these days it’s so hard to get a guy like that. Park was truly a beautiful person to me.

The book left me shocked but I kinda knew it was gonna happen. The book ended with a cliffhanger and I need to know what those three words on that postcard from Eleanor said. OMG! I hate that so much. I wanna know do they ever see each other again? What were the three words? Does Eleanor ever see her family again? So many unanswered questions that I need answers to!

One thing I will say is that the book was cute, fluffy, had funny moments and had serious ones too. I loved the book but I gave it a 4 out of 5 stars instead of 5 out of 5 stars because of the cliffhanger. I want all my blog readers to read this because I did enjoy it and I think you guys would really enjoy it too.

  1. Definitely going to be adding this to my endless TBR pile! Same here! I’m not all that much a fan of books that end with cliffhangers just because it makes me feel cheated as a reader. I mean after building all this suspense and taking us through a maze of events, it would be a nice reward to receive some sort of closure! 😀
I look forward to reading more from you in the future – Happy Reading 🙂
