Scarlet By Marissa Meyer. Synopsis-  Cinder, the cyborg mechanic, returns in the second thrilling installment of the bestselling Lunar Chronicles. She’s trying to break out of prison—even though if she succeeds, she’ll be the Commonwealth’s most wanted fugitive.

Halfway around the world, Scarlet Benoit’s grandmother is missing. When Scarlet encounters Wolf, a street fighter who may have information as to her grandmother’s whereabouts, she is loath to trust this stranger but is inexplicably drawn to him, and he to her. As Scarlet and Wolf unravel one mystery, they encounter another when they meet Cinder. Now, all of them must stay one step ahead of the vicious Lunar Queen Levana, who will do anything for the handsome Prince Kai to become her husband, her king, her prisoner.

Why do I want to read this book? I’ve always wanted to read The Lunar Chronicles and it seems like it’s an amazing series. I plan to read Cinder this month and Cinder is the first Book of The Lunar Chronicles so please keep a look out for that review coming soon for you guys.

The Hate U Give By Angie Thomas. Synopsis- Sixteen-year-old Starr Carter moves between two worlds: the poor neighborhood where she lives and the fancy suburban prep school she attends. The uneasy balance between these worlds is shattered when Starr witnesses the fatal shooting of her childhood best friend Khalil at the hands of a police officer. Khalil was unarmed.

Soon afterward, his death is a national headline. Some are calling him a thug, maybe even a drug dealer and a gang banger. Protesters are taking to the streets in Khalil’s name. Some cops and the local drug lord try to intimidate Starr and her family. What everyone wants to know is: what really went down that night? And the only person alive who can answer that is Starr.

But what Starr does or does not say could upend her community. It could also endanger her life.

Why do I want to read this book? I want to read The Hate U Give because it talks about something serious that is actually happening today in our day and time. I hope I really enjoy this book because it seems like it is an amazing story. The review will be posted next month!

Anna and the French Kiss By Stephanie Perkins. Synopsis- Can Anna find love in the City of Light?

Anna is happy in Atlanta. She has a loyal best friend and a crush on her coworker at the movie theater, who is just starting to return her affection. So she’s less than thrilled when her father decides to send her to a boarding school in Paris for her senior year.

But despite not speaking a word of French, Anna meets some cool new people, including the handsome Étienne St. Clair, who quickly becomes her best friend. Unfortunately, he’s taken —and Anna might be, too. Will a year of romantic near misses end with the French kiss she’s waiting for?

Why do I want to read this book? I wanna read Anna and the French Kiss because I love a good romance so I’m excited to see how this one turns out and I know I’m late reading this series but better late than never. I also love how Anna lives in Atlanta where I live and I was also born and raised here so I think that’s pretty cool. The review will be posted next month!
